Crit #6
OK, the last thing I want to do is turn this into another "bitch" session. Having said that, I'll tell you about tonight’s edition of the crit.
First, it was very windy which created a head wind on the back stretch. Second, there was an all out attack on the neutral lap, which by the way set the tone for the rest of the ride. Attack after attack went off and the field worked reasonably well bringing it all back together.
One pivotal moment happened about 30 minutes in when a huge attack went up the right side of the front stretch. I was positioned well to the left and behind two ass holes that simultaneously "sat up" and started chatting about God knows what. Probably about each others......I better not go there!!!
Anyway, we (about 4 of us) spent the rest of the 25 minutes trying to bring it back but the group, now up the road a couple hundred yards, had the right mix of riders in it to stay away.
The lead group had probably 8-9 in it. Thanks to a great lead out after turn #4 by Rob R. I managed to win the field spring. So, I'm guessing I finished about 10th. Hey, I'll take it considering the first 9 were a pretty solid group.

Next week I have to travel to my corporate office. Catch up on #8.

Crit #5
Man it was hard!!! Stayed in the thick of it until the last half lap. Finished in the field. Probably a case of too much "nose in the wind" early on coupled with not riding that much. Otherwise, it was a fun ride and a good work out. Still the best "in town" race going.

Put some new tires on the Felt. Never used Kenda tires on a road bike. The seem to be pretty solid. The price wasn't bad either.

Gonna be putting my Cyclocross bike on ebay soon. If anyone's interested let me know and I'll send a pic.
Later...

Crits #2 #3 #4
Nothing major happening in these last 3 weeks. A few crashes and mishaps. I think someone ended up in the grass in one of them. I finished 7th, 10th and 6th respectively. Anyway, we've gotten moved into the new house in Lexington and I'm steadily underway with a myriad of "honey do" projects that are being handed down from the Front Desk. Usually, during these dark times my riding suffers. This time is no different as I have only been on the bike 4 times in as many weeks. You guessed it......ALL Crits.

On the bright side, the house is pretty cool and surprisingly spacious. Our kids have their own "wing" upstairs and the Front Desk and I actually have our own bathroom. Quite the culture shock going from a 60+ year old house in Forest Acres to an 18 month old house in LexTown. Another plus is that it's about a mile to the closest bike shop (Bike toNature).

Hopefully, I'll be able to go out and ride with the early birds fromHarrell's that meet on Saturday mornings. They advertise that they leave no one behind. I'll be holding them to that. : )
